Promptor’s own checks run in your browser and find missing parts. They can not tell whether a prompt is good. For that you need a model that reads the prompt as a person would. With Connect AI, your AI tool can do that, using your project as context.
What you need
Connect AI turned on and an AI tool paired with Full editing access. Set it up in Settings, under Connect AI. A Skills only connection can not read your prompts.
Run the review
- Open Promptor and write or paste your prompt. Choose the AI it is for. Optionally pick a project to check against.
- In your AI tool, run the slash command
/review-prompt. Add what to focus on if you like, for example “shorter” or “for ChatGPT”. - The AI tool reads your draft, the skills and agents of the linked project, and Promptor’s checks with their reasons and sources.
- It replies with what to change and why, and a clearer version of the prompt.
What it checks
The AI tool applies the same checks as Promptor, then adds what code can not judge: whether a newcomer would understand the goal, whether anything contradicts or is missing, whether it asks for too many things at once, and whether it suits the AI you chose. If a project is linked, it looks for a skill or agent that fits the task and for anything that clashes with the project instructions.
You decide what changes
The AI tool asks before it changes anything. If you say yes, it can put the new prompt in Promptor, or save it to your library, and the app asks you to confirm each time, showing the text. It can also change or delete a saved prompt, again after you confirm.
What it can see
It reads the prompt in Promptor, your saved prompts, and the names and descriptions of skills and agents in the linked project. Treat the review like any text you send to an AI provider: the prompt goes to the provider your AI tool uses, under its terms. Prompts that hold a key are refused.
Without Connect AI
You can still get a review. Copy the prompt from Promptor and ask your AI tool: “Review this prompt for clarity, context, format and safety, and suggest a clearer version.” The /review-prompt command just saves you the setup and adds your project.
